Job Description

The Lee Lab at Stanford University is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist and Lab Manager to join our team. This role combines scientific responsibilities with operational management to ensure the success of our cutting-edge preclinical systems neuroscience research.Role OverviewThis dual-role position requires an experienced scientist with strong managerial abilities who can support research development while overseeing the day-to-day operations of our lab. The ideal candidate will contribute to our scientific mission while ensuring the lab runs efficiently, compliantly, and productively.Key ResponsibilitiesScientific Responsibilities Research Activities: Conduct data acquisition and analysis based on expertise, which may include electrophysiology recordings, functional ultrasound, functional MRI, or other neuroscience methodologies Manuscript Development: Support manuscript editing, submission, review process management, and post-publication activities Grant Management: Coordinate preparation and submission of grant applications, including budget preparation, letters of support, and other documentation Scientific Documentation: Oversee documentation of procedures, protocols, data, code, and collaborationsLab Management Compliance: Ensure adherence to all university and regulatory requirements, including lab inspections, waste management, animal protocols, and training certifications Resource Management: Oversee equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, processing deliveries, and managing capital equipment Human Resources: Mentor lab members, assist with onboarding/offboarding, manage time-off requests, and coordinate lab events Data Archival: Maintain systems for proper archiving of research data and code Hiring Support: Participate in recruitment and selection of new lab membersOur Research FocusOur lab investigates circuit mechanisms underlying neurological disorders including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, autism, and epilepsy.
