What You ‘ll Be Doing

  •  Project Cost Estimation: Calculate and analyze the costs for upcoming projects in preparation for tender submissions, including direct and indirect costs, labor, materials, and overheads.
  •  Tender Support: Work closely with the project management and sales teams to provide accurate financial data and support the preparation of bids for tenders, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
  •  Cost Breakdown Development: Create detailed cost breakdowns for each project, factoring in potential risks, scope changes, and contingencies to ensure that all costs are accounted for in the tender process.
  •  Budgeting for Upcoming Projects: Collaborate with project managers and department heads to develop initial project budgets based on the estimated costs for tender proposals.
  •  Variance Analysis: After project award, track and analyze actual costs versus estimated costs to refine future cost estimation practices and improve accuracy.
  •  Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with project management, procurement, and sales teams to ensure cost data aligns with project requirements and client expectations.
  •  Project Financial Reporting & Analysis: Provide detailed cost reports for each tender, presenting data clearly and concisely to assist decision-makers in evaluating  projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in financial analysis, project costing, or tender support, preferably within an industry that requires tender submissions (e.g., construction, engineering, IT, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of cost estimation principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Proficiency in financial software
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize budgets.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex data sets.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement and vendor management processes.
