Bergen Logistics is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider specializing in supply chain solutions, warehousing, and technology solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Recognition Manager to ensure accurate revenue accounting in compliance with applicable standards.
Job Summary
The Revenue Recognition Manager will oversee revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant financial regulations. This role will work cross-functionally with finance and operations to evaluate customer contracts, manage revenue recognition policies, and support financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong background in revenue accounting, preferably within the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries.
Duties and Responsabilities
- Ensure revenue recognition policies comply with ASC 606 and other accounting standards.
- Review and analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Partner with operations and sales teams to assess contract terms and their financial implications.
- Implement and maintain internal controls over revenue recognition processes.
- Monitor deferred revenue, contract liabilities, and other revenue-related accounts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to revenue accounting.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy in revenue reporting.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Work with IT and finance teams to improve systems for tracking and reporting revenue.
- Stay up to date on accounting regulations and best practices related to revenue recognition.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industries.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in large ERP accounting software (Netsuite is a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
