Location: RemoteEmployment Type: Full-timeJob Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Real Estate Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in real estate accounting and be proficient in QuickBooks Online and AppFolio. This role will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with real estate accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and manage financial records for multiple real estate properties.Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and property ledgers.Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports.Ensure accurate recording of rent payments, security deposits, and property expenses in AppFolio.Handle monthly closing processes, including journal entries and adjustments.Assist with financial audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting for real estate transactions.Communicate with property managers, tenants, and vendors regarding financial matters.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Qualifications & Requirements: Must have real estate accounting experience (minimum 3 years preferred).Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and AppFolio is required.Strong understanding of real estate financial statements, GAAP, and property management accounting.Experience with CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, and lease accounting is a plus.Preferred Skills:Experience with real estate investment firms, property management companies, or REITs.Knowledge of tax laws and compliance related to real estate.
