The PSC Revenue Accountant is a pivotal role within the Finance Team, responsible for ensuring the accurate recognition and reporting of all revenue streams and crude purchases.
This role involves preparing monthly PSC calculators and related reports, managing hydrocarbon streams and accounting, and providing critical financial insights to both internal and external stakeholders. The PSC Revenue Accountant plays a crucial part in defending and maximising our interests with all parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attend and contribute to quarterly PCO
- Conduct cost oil audits and attend state oil reconciliation meetings
- Manage relationships with key partners
- Coordinate with various infrastructure users
- Financial Reporting and Controls:
- Ensure proper auditing of revenue streams and maintain robust financial controls
- Prepare and follow up on cash and revenue forecasts
- Generate ad hoc reports and fulfill requests as needed
- Revenue and Hydrocarbon Management:
- Align contracts with revenue streams and ensure accurate accounting of revenues, stocks, over/underlifts, and purchases
- Provide monthly forecasts of revenues, pipeline, and purchase flows
- Monitor revenue perception and facilitate the recovery of outstanding receivables
- Prepare comprehensive revenue reports, including cash and working capital optimization
- Deliver accurate PSC accounting deliverables for month-end
- Update fiscal terms according to new PSCs and conduct cost recovery audits with minimal exposure for the company
- Ensure proper hydrocarbon reporting and verify hydrocarbon flows and positions against partners and internal reporting
- Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure timely closure of internal and external audit requests and minimize finding exposure
- Document and evidence all activities and tasks
- University degree in Accounting or Finance Master’s degree in Auditing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing and accounting.
- Experience in the banking and oil & gas industries.
- Proficiency in New SYSCOHADA & IFRS GAAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
