PURPOSE OF POSITION 

The Engineer serves three key purposes: 1) To be the focal point for the construction of bespoke military positions and infrastructure. 2) To work closely with the Engineer Team Leader. 3) To support and develop beneficiaries' engineers in the planning and construction of military positions at specified locations. 

What you'll be doing

Written work & reporting: 

  • Contribute to Weekly Report (to include supporting photos).
  • Produce SME input for Quarterly Reports.
  • Provide verbal briefs for VIP Visits as directed.
  • Support and answer RFIs as directed.
  • Produce Engineering Operational Vignettes related to positions, as directed.

Mentoring support: 

  • Senior beneficiary stakeholders.
  • Support the development of beneficiaries, providing expert advice on the construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Liaison with external engineers at site locations.

Liaison: 

  • Key Leadership Engagement (KLE) with representatives from the beneficiary.
  • Project Director.
  • Project Manager.
  • Operations Manager.
  • Logistics Manager.

Miscellaneous: 

  • Carry out tasks as directed by the Project Director & Senior Management.
  • Visits: support, enable & host VIP visits.
  • Adhere to the Security Plan.
  • Adhere to deployment directive.
  • Adhere to dress Policy.

Essential: 

  • Knowledge and experience of military combat engineering, to include the use of HESCO or equivalent.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and implement multiple construction projects at remote locations in often adverse conditions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver, able to work with limited supervision to overcome challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate and utilise a local-national workforce.
  • Develop and up-skill partnered engineers from the beneficiary.

Desirable: 

  • Use of CAD software.
  • Knowledge and experience of solar power technology and systems.
  • Arabic or French speaking.
