The Director of Studies (DoS) and School Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management as well as the academic management of the LANGUAGECERT School of English, ensuring the highest standards in English language teaching and learning. The LANGUAGECERT School of English will be established in order to support English Language Learning across five international schools in Istanbul. The role will involve curriculum development, teacher training, quality assurance, administrative duties and student support. The DoS will also represent the school at external events and collaborate with international partners.

As a Director of Studies, your tasks will include the following:

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of English language courses.
• Ensure teaching methodologies align with best practices in English language learning.
• Monitor student progress through effective assessment and feedback strategies.
• Recruit, train, and mentor teaching staff to maintain high academic standards.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
• Organize workshops and training to support pedagogical innovation.
• Conduct lesson observations and feedback sessions to uphold teaching quality.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
• Oversee school facilities and resources to ensure an optimal learning environment.
• Foster strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and the local community.

What we look for:

• A Degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
• DELTA, MA TESOL, or equivalent advanced teaching qualification.
• Significant experience in academic management within an English language teaching context.
• Proven experience in teacher training, curriculum design, and assessment development. Experience in running an English Language School is desirable.
• Strong understanding of accreditation requirements and quality assurance in ELT.
• Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of assessment methodologies and quality assurance in education.
• Experience in managing school operations and implementing educational policies.
• Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Familiarity with digital learning platforms and technology-enhanced teaching.
