Shipmanagement and shipowning company based in Maroussi is looking for a Chief Accountant with the following main responsibilities: 

• Coordination and control of the full range of accounting tasks and activities, ensuring adherence to the company’s policies and procedures 

• Direct communication with tax and other regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with rules and deadlines applicable to companies operating under Law 89 

• Cash flow reporting and treasury activities 

• Responsible for month- and year end closing process 

• Participation in monthly reporting activities, budget preparation and forecasting in cooperation with the financial controller 

• Communication with suppliers, local and foreign 

• Prepare ad hoc external and internal reports according to top management requirements 

The ideal candidate should have: 

• University/College degree in Accounting and Finance 

• Class A’ Accountant certification 

• Advanced knowledge of local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements for shipping companies 

• Excellent business writing and verbal communication in both Greek and English 

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with DANAOS application will be considered an asset.  

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach 

• Capability to work independently being responsible and accountable with an eye for detail 

• Minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role
