Our client is a leading international manufacturer specializing in printing machinery for various sectors, including label printing, flexible packaging, carton boards, security printing, commercial printing, and pharmaceutical leaflets. Boasting over 1,700 installations across more than 70 countries, our client ensures the highest product and service quality.

The position is based in Barcelona, Spain.

Our client is open to candidates from the European Union who hold a valid work permit. Please note that proof of work authorization may be required during the hiring process. Additionally, the company offers a one-time relocation package to assist with the transition for eligible candidates.

Job Requirements:

Automation Systems Analysis & Programming:

    • Analyze existing automation systems and develop enhancements to improve machinery performance and efficiency.
    • Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, specifically using Siemens S7-300 and Codesys platforms.

Machinery Start-Up and Commissioning:

    • Lead the start-up, testing, and commissioning of new machinery installations to ensure they meet client specifications and operational standards.

Integration of External Equipment:

    • Seamlessly integrate external devices and systems into existing machinery setups, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

Technical Documentation:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, programming codes, and operational manuals.

Technical Support and After Sales Assistance:

    • Provide expert technical support to the After Sales Service department, addressing and resolving queries from both office-based teams and field personnel.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during and after machinery installation.

Continuous Improvement:

    • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with the latest automation technologies and industry best practices.
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Minimum of Professional Training Grade II in Automation or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Siemens S7-300.
  • Strong experience with SCADA systems and Codesys.
  • Proven track record in automation system analysis, programming, and machinery commissioning.
  • Relevant certifications in automation, PLC programming, or related areas are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of servo drives (Siemens, Rexroth) and frequency converters.
  • Familiarity with fieldbus technologies such as Profibus, CAN, and Industrial Ethernet.
  • Competence in industrial machinery programming and integration.
  • Must be prepared to travel within Spain and internationally to support machinery installations and provide technical assistance.
