Assistant Site Manager

Trecatti Landfill - Merthyr Tydfil

This is a site-based position reporting to the site manager. It will be a hands-on role looking after the day to day running of a busy landfill site. The role will include office-based duties ensuing compliance with company procedures and a large presence is required onsite to control site operations and contractors and the ability to assist when necessary to cover for staff absence.

Key resposibilities:

• Day to day planning of environmental compliance requirements and waste operations with the Site Manager, Regional General Manager
• Daily management of the Landfill site, and other associated operations in accordance with Site Permit and Planning Permission conditions. This includes providing an on-site presence and daily liaison and management of the plant operators
• Maintaining a planned preventative maintenance schedule including a system of checks for plant on site and maintaining and updating the training matrix for plant operators
• Along with the site manager, manage the day-to-day operations of the landfill site to ensure the smooth running of the waste operations
• Ensure Compliance with the site management plan

Essential criteria for this role:

·       Waste operational and environmental experience.

·       Mobile plant operational experience.

·       Dealing with contractors

·       Ability to understand numerical data.

·       Knowledge of waste, environmental legislation

·       Ability to understand computer-based control system including word and excel.

·       Report Writing and Waste returns reports.
